In all recorded history, man has worshipped a multitude of sun gods. From Ra in ancient Egypt to Surya in India, he has attributed many names and faces to the sun. One of the most famous of these is Helios, the Greek god of the Sun. According to Homer's Iliad, Helios drove his chariot drawn by fiery steeds across the sky. This, of course, represented the movement of the sun. Being the god of the sun had its benefits. Shining his truth-seeing light on all, Helios was known as "all-seeing and all-knowing" so when Odysseus' men secretly ate some of his sacred cattle (holy cow!), Helios knew and appealed to Zeus, who promptly destroyed all except Odysseus.
When we chose a name for our company, we debated many ideas that all eventually fell by the wayside. Our president, Jim McBride - being a fan of Greek mythology - eventually came up with the Helios moniker. When we thought about what our clients would want the most from us, we all agreed that it would be the ability to identify market trends and act accordingly. Being all-seeing and knowing was the god Helios' specialty and we like to think it's ours too. We keep up with which way the market winds blow, what the cutting edge designs are and we analyze ads that stand above the rest.
