Helios Design Group recognized by SPRF

Helios wins award for Yard Sign design

            	September 18, 2007

Mobile, AL.- Helios Design Group was recognized by the Southern Public Relations Federation during the organization's 2007 Lantern Awards ceremony held last month. The award of merit was presented to Helios for their sign design for the Haley Barbour campaign.

"Many hours of revisions and fine-tuning went into this project," Jim McBride, President of Helios Design Group stated. "We're elated that we've been bestowed this honor by the SPRF. Starting out in this industry can be an uphill battle, and receiving acknowledgement for your hard work from your peers is very rewarding."

"We're making a positive impression on the Gulf Coast which is what we've been striving for during the past year" said Patrick Bruno, Art Director, Helios Design Group.

Over 30 different designs were presented for the campaign. It was agreed that a traditional, patriotic theme would best communicate an integral part of the campaign. A rippling stars & stripes flag was included to distinguish the design. The yard sign is currently in use and over 100,000 were printed for distribution to campaign supporters. Both the Governor and the First Lady have expressed their satisfaction with the design.

Helios Design Group is an advertising and multimedia agency based on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Helios specializes in print, web & motion graphics and has a full staff of designers and developers waiting to assist you in your next project.
Two projects completed

Helios completes work for Governor Haley Barbour and DBPA

            	September 04, 2007

Helios Design Group, based at Stennis Space Center, has completed work on Governor Haley Barbour's 2007 gubernatorial campaign materials. Helios produced the identity and layout for the campaign's yard signs, bumper stickers and rally signs. "We're very excited to have this opportunity to add to our portfolio of work. It's a real feather in our cap," said Patrick Bruno, Art Director for Helios. "We're growing by leaps and bounds; staying busy is not a problem, lately."

On August 15th, Helios also completed redesign work on the website for the Diamondhead Business & Professional Association. "DPBA is very excited to have launched our newly redesigned website, created by Helios Design Group. Our site is very user friendly and looks very professional! Helios has been wonderful to work with and I highly recommend them to my industry peers for site production and maintenance," said Schoen Heier, Board Member and Secretary for DBPA. The DBPA website is located at www.dbpa.org.

Katrina Volunteers Memorial

Helios creates concept design for the Hurricane Katrina Memorial Fund

				March 30, 2007

Diamondhead, Miss., Helios Design Group—a subsidiary of JM Digital Corporation—has created the concept design for the Hurricane Katrina Memorial Fountain. The fountain will rise 30 feet from the ground and be surrounded by a pool of water. It will be located at the Hancock County, Mississippi Welcome Center.

James Seglund, Chairman of the Katrina Volunteers Memorial Fund, said Friday, "Many of us have approached them and given them a hand shake and a real sincere thank you, but it seemed that was just a passing of a moment and that we needed something a little more permanent so that we would never forget the volunteers."

From the design proposal:

"A large, gently sloped grassy clearing will have a curved sidewalk made of remaining hurricane rubble and debris, set in place like tiles and grouted with a mixture of authentic beach sand and mortar. Flanking the sidewalk will be a gradually raised wall peaking at about 4 feet high, leaning slightly away from the walker, with bronze plaques listing volunteer organizations and sponsors. The sidewalk will lead to the Memorial where an opening in the wall will allow the viewer to see a pool lined with mosaic tiles spiraling outward from the center, reminiscent of a hurricane shape. The obelisk will stand 30 feet tall and be made of dark marble or granite. It will have a gentle sway to it to represent how a life changing event will always leave a mark on a community. The marble or granite will be broken down into layers signifying each coastal city affected by the storm. A recessed channel lined with copper will run down the front, meeting with the mosaicked pool. Water will be pumped through the obelisk to the top and cascade down the center channel. The pool will be rimmed with a 6 to 8 foot wide ring of granite slabs and the 4 foot wall will continue, wrapping around that. Several lights will be recessed into the granite ring and shine either directly up into the sky, or be trained on the obelisk for nighttime viewing."

"We are extremely proud to be a part of this remarkable project. Being able to help provide a permanent 'thank you' to the volunteers whom we owe so much is just incredible." said Jim McBride, President of JM Digital.

Patrick Bruno, Art Director of Helios Design Group, stated, "My staff designed this monument to convey a somber feeling when viewed, something that both humbles and gives hope to future generations. We think the end result will be a constant beacon of gratitude and continue to make an impression on future generations."

The estimated cost of construction will be around $400,000 and is reliant on donations and corporate sponsorships.

JM Digital Corporation is the parent company of Helios Design Group, a new advertising and multimedia agency based on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Helios specializes in print, web & motion graphics and has a full staff of designers and developers waiting to assist you in your next project.

If you wish to make a donation toward the fund, you can send a check in the mail to:

Katrina Volunteers Fountain
Gulf Coast Community Foundation
P.O. Box 2984
Gulfport, MS 39505
or call (228)255-3451 for more information.
